Celebrate 50 Years of Community Media!
Join us on May 2, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the UMass Campus Center Auditorium to celebrate fifty years of community media and look ahead to the future of Amherst Media.
This year’s Gala features Representative Jim McGovern, Monte Belmonte, Tem Blessed, Cita Light, and Amherst Media’s new staff & board leadership. Together, we will revisit the stories that have shaped Amherst Media since 1976 and set a vision for the future of local media that tells your stories.
We are proud to honor Representative Jim McGovern with the Jean Haggerty Community Service Award. His leadership reflects a deep commitment to ensuring that access, dignity, and justice remain at the center of our community.
The evening will feature special performances by Hip Hop Artists Tem Blessed and Cita Light and will be hosted by local radio voice Monte Belmonte. DJ Mikey Don will lead the music and dancing portion of the evening.
Tickets are $100 per seat and include a full evening of programming and a catered dinner.
